What does your standing mean?
Not sure what your current academic or financial aid status means? These definitions can help鈥攂ut be sure to meet with an advisor for guidance.
-
Warning - students who have either a semester or a cumulative GPA below 2.0 are placed or continued on academic warning
-
Probation - students whose semester and cumulative GPA fall below 2.0 after any semester, including the summer session, will be put on academic probation.
-
Completion Rate - you need to successfully complete 鈪 of the classes you take (67%)
-
Below 67% - if you complete fewer than 67% of your classes, your financial aid will be impacted, and you should connect with financial aid to determine next steps
-
150% Rule - attempted more than 150% of the credits required for the current degree program at the end of this most recent semester
-
SAP Warning - The student is in financial aid warning status because they do not meet our Satisfactory Academic Progress policy (PDF) Under warning status, the student is eligible to receive financial aid for the upcoming semester but must raise their cumulative completion rate and/or cumulative UA GPA to our Satisfactory Academic Progress policy standard by the end of the semester to regain eligibility.
-
SAP Ineligible is when you are either are not meeting the completion rate of 67% of attempted classes, below a cumulative 2.0 GPA or you have attempted more than 150% of the credits required for the current degree program at the end of this most recent semester
-
Academic Standing is based on your GPA per semester and your cumulative GPA (combined GPA from all semesters) at UAF only (does not include transfer credit)
-
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is determined based on two factors: maintaining at least a 2.0 GPA and maintaining a 67% completion rate at all universities you鈥檝e attended (including transfer credit)
-
It is possible to be in good academic standing at UAF and still not be eligible for financial aid based on your Satisfactory Academic Progress
