Research interests/biography

Biodegradation of contaminants, biogeochemical cycling, microbiology, microbial ecology. Biodegradation of environmental contaminants and biogeochemical cycling in soils, groundwater and marine environments. Oil spills and chemical dispersants in the Arctic Ocean, biodegradation of sulfolane in contaminated groundwater, and phytoremediation, which is the potential use of native plants and microbes to clean up contaminated soils.
