Research interests/biography

Laura Whitmore is a chemical oceanographer. Her work traces elements through the marine system to better understand water movement. She investigates elemental cycles to understand how biological communities, turbulence, erosion and currents influence nutrients and other elements. Her work is closely tied to climate and is largely in the Bering-Chukchi Seas and Arctic Ocean.
