Brown Bag Lunch — From Large-Scale Prototypes to Small Village Microgrids

Please join ACEP at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 6 for a discussion with Ben Blainedavis, a renewable energy engineer and project manager from the Lower 48 who is keenly interested in learning more about Alaska’s microgrid challenges and opportunities.

Blainedavis will present “A Snapshot of Renewables: From Large-Scale Prototypes to Small Village Microgrids” in the BP Design Theater, Room 401 of the Engineering Learning and Innovation Facility on the ̳ campus. If you can’t make it in person, on Zoom.

While in Alaska, Blainedavis will meet with a range of organizations in Anchorage and ̳.

His presentation and discussion will include a variety of topics, including: how the tallest turbine in North America constructed; the limitations of the U.S. wind industry and what’s next for the post-production tax credit market; Kilowatts for Humanity and how it designs and implements projects; and the intersection of large, small, and on- and off-grid resources.
