The Alaska Center for Energy and Power Summer Internship program is accepting applications for the summer 2026 cohort.

The program offers a varied group of undergraduate interns an opportunity to engage in the energy ecosystem of Alaska through projects in marine, geothermal or high-latitude solar energy, heat pumps, cyberinfrastructure or data analysis.

Interns gain hands-on research experience in 海角论坛 or Anchorage and applied skill development in the field of applied energy research under faculty mentorship over the course of 10 weeks.

The program offers three tracks:

  • Research Experiences for Undergrads: for students embarking on their first research experience
  • ACEP Undergraduate Summer Internship: for experienced students interested in an advanced research project
  • Utility-Research Partnerships: for research conducted by ACEP and local utility collaborators

to receive program updates.

The application period is open through Friday, Jan. 23, 2026. Successful applicants will be offered interviews in mid-February.

Visit ACEP鈥檚 internship program website to learn about past intern projects. Contact Patty Eagan at pmeagan@alaska.edu with any questions.
